Avogadro y el Día del Mol/Avogadro and the Mole Day



El 23 de octubre de cada año, entre las 6.02 de la mañana y las 6.02 de la tarde se celebra el Día del Mol, que conmemora el Número de Avogadro (6,02 x 10^23) unidad de medida básica en química que representa el número de entidades elementales que hay en un mol de sustancia.
El Número se denomina así en honor del italiano Lorenzo Romano Amedeo Carlo Avogadro, conde de Quaregna e Cerreto, quien propuso por primera vez que el volumen de un gas (a una presión y temperatura dadas) es proporcional al número de átomos o moléculas, independiente del gas que se trate.
Avogadro formuló su hipótesis en un artículo publicado el 14 de julio de 1811 en el Journal de Physique, de Chimie et d'Histoire naturelle con el título; Essai d'une manière de déterminer les masses relatives des molecules élémentaires des corps, et les proportions selon lesquelles elles entrent dans ces combinaisons. El valor de la constante fue calculado por primera vez por Johann Josef Loschmidt en 1865, y fue el físico francés Jean Perrin (Premio Nobel de Física en 1926) el que propuso en 1909 nombrar la constante en honor de Avogadro.

Every October 23, between 6.02 a.m. and 6.02 p.m. is the Mole Day that commemorates Avogadro Constant (6.02 x 10^23), which is a basic measuring unit in chemistry and expresses the number of elementary entities per mole of substance.
The Avogadro constant is named after the early nineteenth-century Italian scientist Lorenzo Romano Amedeo Carlo Avogadro, who first proposed that the volume of a gas (at a given pressure and temperature) is proportional to the number of atoms or molecules regardless of the nature of the gas.
Avogadro proposed his hypothesis in a paper published the 14th of July of 1811 in the Journal de Physique, de Chimie et d'Histoire naturelle whit the title; Essai d'une manière de déterminer les masses relatives des molecules élémentaires des corps, et les proportions selon lesquelles elles entrent dans ces combinaisons. The value of the constat was first calculated in 1865 by Johann Josef Loschmidt, whereas the French physicist Jean Perrin (Nobel Prize in Physics 1926) proposed in 1909 to name the constant in honor of Avogadro.
