El Día de Ada Lovelace 2010

Augusta Ada King, Condesa de Lovelace (1815-1852), Ada Lovelace, es conocida como la 'primera programadora' ya que escribió programas para el primer ordenador mecánico multipropósito: el ingenio mecánico de Baggage.

El Día de Ada Lovelace es un día internacional de 'blogging' (videoblogging, podcast, comic...) dedicado a a llamar la atención sobre los logros de las mujeres en la tecnología y la ciencia, que se celebra el 24 de marzo.

Las contribuciones femeninas a menudo quedan sin reconocimiento, sus innovaciones no se mencionan y sus rostros raramente se conocen. Queremos contar al mundo acerca de estas heroínas desconcocidas. No importa si tu blog es nuevo o antiguo, si eres hombre o mujer, ni cual es tu lengua, ni siquiera los temas sobre los que habitualmente hablas: todo el mundo queda invitado.

Simplemente firma el compromiso y publica un post el día 24 de marzo de 2010.

¿Y sobre quién podría yo hablar? He aquí unas recomendaciones

* Puedes escribir sobre culquier mujer, viva o muerta
* La mujer elegida no tiene por qué ser famosa, pero puede serlo
* Puedes escribir sobre una sóla mujer o sobre varias
* Piensa en alguna mujer que te haya inspirado de alguna manera: profesoras, familiares, figuras públicas, figuras históricas, amigas, colegas...
* Ciencia y Tecnología son campos muy amplios
* Si ya estás en ciencia o tecnología, simplemente mira a tu alrededor alrededor, y piensa si alguna mujer cerca de tí no está recibiendo todo el reconocimiento que merece
* No se trata de hablar sobre la mujer que más te inspiró o a la que más admiras ,sino sobre una que te inspire o admires

The Ada Lovelace Day is an international day of blogging (videologging, podcasting, comic drawing etc.!) to draw attention to the achievements of women in technology and science, celebrated each 24th of march

Women’s contributions often go unacknowledged, their innovations seldom mentioned, their faces rarely recognised. We want you to tell the world about these unsung heroines, whatever they do. It doesn’t matter how new or old your blog is, what gender you are, what language you blog in, or what you normally blog about – everyone is invited.

Just sign the pledge and publish your blog post any time on Wednesday 24th March 2010.

“Who should I blog about?” . Here are a few thoughts to help you out:

* you can write about any woman, be she alive or dead
* the woman you choose to write about does not have to be famous — but she can
* you can write about more than one woman if you like — or just about one
* think of the women who have influenced or inspired you in some way or another throughout your life (teachers? family members? public figures? historical figures? friends? colleagues?)
* “tech and science” is a pretty loose field, on purpose
* if you are in the field of science or tech, look around you: are there women you know (or know of) who are not getting as much recognition as they would deserve?
* your post doesn’t have to be about “the woman who most inspired me” or “my absolute top role-model, and she happens to be a woman” — go for “a woman who inspires me, or whom I admire”.
